I'm still reeling from Trump's indifference over what happened to that father protecting his family. It's mind boggling Mark.

Out of curiosity, have you ever read Vance's book "Hillbilly Elegy"?

No, and I don’t plan to. Have you?

I have, and it's actually pretty interesting. He makes a lot of good points about cycles of violence/abuse that keep people in poverty.

Of course, he wrote it during that phase of his career when he would compare Trump to opioids and call him "America's Hitler." I recall that somewhere in the book, he calls blaming immigration for unemployment as an excuse people make for not working to better themselves. I think he's changed his mind on that, too.

To me, Vance's story is an almost Shakespearean tragedy. The Vance who wrote that book comes across (to me, anyway) as exactly the kind of moderate, sensible type of politician that I think a lot of people would like; completely at odds with the way VP-candidate Vance behaves today. I think he had the potential to be great, but he sold his soul instead. It's a shame.

He did speak well in that latest interview. He's no quitter, as Chris Matthews said on Morning Joe. If you examine his history...his wife and child dying in a car accident. His beloved son Beau succumbing to cancer, both times inconsolable, be he rallied. I'd rather have him at half throttle than Donald Trump who's so dangerously insane any day of the week. His shit show is at least watchable.

Yes. He has looked better since the debate. He certainly has far more empathy in his little finger than Trump has ever had.

I'll be honest. I see regardless of who wins this election, it will be a mess. If Trump loses we'll have more violence, riots in the streets. And if he wins, we may as well kiss our way of life good bye. Yes, Biden may still have a chance,, but look what will happen. Americans Mark, may just vote for Trump out of the fear of that horrible word you repeated...blood bath.

For myself, I need to just accept that, this is what's going on presently and pray that higher forces step in.

I agree. Even if Biden wins, it’s still going to be a mess. It feels like we’ve become a permanent shit show.

It’s just not natural to go from what he was saying in 2016 to where he is now. But he isn’t the only one who has done so. I mean … Nikki Haley?!?!

I saw that, but how many days later. Come on.
