Sinking To A New Low
We have officially crossed the rubicon.
Pandora’s Box is open
The apocalypse is upon us.
The Four Horsement are riding.
Fonzie jumped the shark. America has jumped the moon. Not just a cow, an entire nation.
A candidate for the office of President showed up at Sneaker Con today. Little did I know, until now, that there is a convention for sneakers. But there is. And Donald Trump, candidate for the highest office in the land, the proverbial leader of the free world, showed up to do what.
Yep.
Pitch his branded sneakers he is selling for a very reasonable $399 per pair. They are covered with gold lame, have a T on the side and an American flag.
Let me repeat myself, a candidate for the Presidency is pitching $400 sneakers at a sneaker convention. And his fans probably have no problem with this.
In fact, one of them bid on an autographed pair in an auction and won. For the low, low price of $9,000.
Trump apparently is also pitching a Trump branded cologne, and let’s not forget his digital trading cards.
I’m sure there is more.
And this is where we are as a country. A con-man milking his gullible supporters for anything and everything he can is neck-and-neck for the Presidency, if the polls are to be believed. (I still have my doubts, but that’s the optimist in me. Take that all you who know me and think I’m an Eeyore!)
When do even the true believers recognize they are being taken, that this man is a fraud, that he cares nothing about them except for what they are willing to spend to keep him afloat.
Geez. When is this national nightmare going to end? How can any member of the GOP look themselves in the mirror as Trump continues to steamroll through and destroy the party while bilking them all out of more and more of their money?

I love how you made hay out of this. It's right up with burying Ivana on a golf course, not to mention refereeing a wrestling rather than show up for the September 11th 20th Anniversary.
If voters don't realize by now the man was dropped on his head, then Mark, I really don't know what it's going to take.
I read a quote from a childhood friend of his who said...he was the kid at the birthday party who always threw cake at the other kids.
The thing I've finally come to realize is... it's not that most of his fans don't realize he's a con man. Most of them do, but they don't care, and they think it's kind of funny. I think they've essentially lost faith in the government so completely that they're just like, "Haha yeah, we'll elect this cheesy phony celebrity scam artist as president. Why not? lol nothing matters."
